" The Artist's House "

In an age of specialization, the »Artist's House« represents my attempt at creating a personal, individual and yet at the same time interdisciplinary space. Wanting to create a classification criterion, a screen construction in the shape of a cube was chosen. The sides are made up of 12 right-angled surfaces. A chronological chess-board pattern was used to present work from the past 6 years on these surfaces. These pieces of work represent a cross-section of my dealings with the artistic world. The work used for the Artist's House has been specially created and is made up of pictures, sculptures converted into two-dimensional images and a selection of pictures from between 2000 and 2006. Altogether the Artist's House consists of 48 works from different artistic disciplines. The subject matter is wide ranging indeed. It encompasses art history, advertising and art photography, film and individual environment such as family etc. . A conscious decision was made to vary the visualization style used for the presentation. The idea was to continue with the style pluralism introduced by people such as M. Duchamps and G. Richters. This "Freedom" in an over-visualized world serves in creating post-modern identification energy and in so doing characterizes a new form of multi-creative vitality. By doing this it is possible to create a synthesis between for example figuration and abstraction and between realism and conceptionism. It is possible to pursue a fusion of classic disciplines with new media: architecture, installation, sculpture, assemblage, relief, collage, painting/drawing, photography, film/video or virtual images.
